WEEKLY UPDATE

Please Welcome new member Ken Presson to our chapter crabbyrider@aol.com. Ken rides a 1999 Harley and a 2005 Triumph.

Things are kinda slow around GR right now.Roger posted a ride to the Pic n Pig on Saturday. He reports a fun ride and good eats. That just happens to be a lunch ride that David and I pre- rode last month. So if you didn't make it you will have another chance in the next month or so. I did break away Saturday afternoon and headed towards the hills. Rode some great roads in western VA and ended up on the parkway Sunday.  There was a little color on some trees so the leaf season may be early this year.

This week's Bike Night is at Stromboli's and it's once again time for the "pick-a-ride". Be thinking of some place you would like go. The ride will be for October 9. We may have to change the Zoo ride yet again due to Fall Fest in Asheboro. I'll keep you posted.

CHAPTER RIDES

Sep 4

Time/place:    10 AM K-Mart (Six Forks Road)  10:15 KSU

Extended forecast, is calling for clear weather. Upper 80's to low 90's. I have a nice loopy route through Wake, and Franklin counties.  Except for the first 10 miles (I-540 to US-401 to Mitchell Mill) it's all curvy scenic back roads through farms fields, and woods. 65 miles TO Louisburg...about 1.5-2 hours

lunch in Louisburg at Remington Grill on Beckett St

Followed by another back road route to Raleigh (actually a fairly "direct route" through Youngsville. Roughly 1 hour /30 miles

I apologize in advance to those that were looking forward to another BRP day trip,  there may be another one yet.

Quote of the week

Only a motorcycle rider knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window

MEMBERSHIP

1) The Southern Cruisers Riding Club is a free, voluntary club. There are no dues but there are some commitments. Membership in the SCRC is open to anyone with an interest in group riding regardless of race, creed or sex

2) The Southern Cruisers Riding Club is a No Dues, "Family Oriented Club" and does require some attendance to Meetings or Rides. However, lack of Communications and Participation in a 90 day period may lead to revocation of Membership at the discretion of the Chapter First Officer. The Southern Cruisers is not an Internet Club for Motorcycle enthusiasts

We all joined for our own reasons, but the club's reason for being, is group rides. Members who don't wish to participate, will be, and have been dropped.
First Saturday of each month "the reading of the names"   12 noon Rolling Thunder reads the names of North Carolina MIA's.... if you've never been, then be prepared to be moved
We have several members who work on week ends, If you work weekends, and want to ride during the week... the forum is a GREAT way to connect with others.
