Member Spotlight Archives: Adrienne Lake

Name: Adrienne Lake

Nickname: Don't really have one... anybody want to think one up for me?

Age: Now, that isn't nice to ask a lady!!! OK, OK... I'm 49

Occupation: Everyone's best friend... Auditor

Hobbies/Other interests: Photography, Reading, Surfing the Net.

Type of Ride: 2007 GL1800 (Goldwing)

Dream ride: Ummm... I think I already own it.

How long have you been riding?: I rode a little bit back in my twenties, but took it up seriously about four years ago.

Average Miles a Year: 12,000

What do you like about riding?: The wind in my face, the feeling of freedom. Heck, as they say "If I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand."

Why did you join the SCRC?: Since I am new to the area, it was a great way to meet new people and go new places with people that know the area.

What does SCRC mean to you?: This group has greeted me with open arms. The fun and friendship means a great deal to me.

Rides I like the most: Rides to nowhere in particular. Just keep me off the interstate and let me flower sniff to my hearts content.

Dream trip: That is hard to say as I've ridden quite a few places that a lot of people would classify as dream trips. I've ridden the Pacific Coast Highway, cross country along Route 66, through Death Valley, and in Baja, Mexico among other places. I would like to do a trip along the Outer Banks for a lighthouse tour, or maybe down to Key West.

Favorite Quote: "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!" - Hunter S. Thompson

Anything else you'd like to say?: Nope, I'm a rare breed... a woman of few words.
