Name: Roy Parker

Nickname: "Wrong Way"

Age: 38

Occupation: Programmer

Hobbies/Other interests: Golf, baseball, learning to play guitar, photography.

Type of Ride: 2003 Harley Davidson Softail Heritage Classic

Dream ride: I'm on it. 2nd Choice would be an Ultra Classic

How long have you been riding?: 7 years with a decade-long break

Miles ridden this year: 2,000

What do you like about riding?: When you ride a bike, you get to experience the outdoors in a way unique to motorcycling. The wind, the smells and the sun all add up to a great experience.

Why did you join SCRC?: To meet riding friends.

What does SCRC mean to you?: It's exactly what I was looking for a few years ago. People to ride with, many of whom have become very good friends.

Rides I like the most: I enjoy the rides north of Raleigh, especially late in the evening or early at night. Aside from that, my last two week long trips have been awesome. I'm looking forward to this year's Niagara Falls run.

Dream trip: Out west. All over. I wanna see it all.

Favorite Quote: (I'm going to botch this one up, I can't even remember the writer who penned it.) "One is only truly wealthy when one finds wealth in his surrounding environment."

Anything else you'd like to say?: It's been fantastic to see the club's participation increase over the past few years. I've made a lot of good friends and continue to enjoy the rides and the good times. I only wish I had more time to ride, particularly on the weekends. The best part about the chapter is that my wife, Charla "Axe", and my son, Mick, not only ride with me now, but are welcomed at just about any function that the clubs has. Bringing my family to be with my extended family is something special. To everyone who hasn’t come out much, now's the time to do it. Get to know us. You’ll have a great time. Oh, and stay tuned to your emails for the impromptu ice cream runs through the warm season.
