Weekly Update

Monday, December 17, 2012

Cold and rainy up here in the Big Apple. Makes me appreciate the fine weather we have in NC. Waiting for the LIRR to JFK and making use of the time by actually getting this update out early.

A couple of traditional rides coming up that you don't want to miss. (Unfortunately I will, but I will be riding a Nomad, with Bonnie out the Great Ocean Road on the southern tip of Down Under). The New Year's Ride is always fun and a good chance to catch up with friends from other chapters. The Frostbite Ride is another chapter tradition, although, thanks to global warming, we haven’t had a "true" frostbite ride since I joined the chapter about a dozen years ago. Putting ice cubes down your pants does not count.

A big "THX" to Frank for leading these rides. Without Frank, and Kevin, and the rest of you, who have been leading rides, the chapter would be just a social club, and eventually fold.

I'm working Friday, Bike Night, so I won’t see y'all until we return in January.(assuming the world is still here). I'm hoping to free up the 19th to ride the Frostbite Ride.

Ride safe and ride often,
Joel "Doc" Kann
