Weekly Update

Sitting on my porch in a sweatshirt typing this. In spite of the cooler weather, I refuse to deny it's spring.

Chapter DL list: No-Mutt is in the shop paint shop. As I tried to tell the guy, only source of paint for the two tone Kawi's is Color Rite. After a week delay trying to match the paint, he has finally listened to my amateur advice and ordered the paint. Oh well, more delays. He promises to have it back to me in plenty of time for the Back of the Dragon Ride. As a matter of fact, he and a buddy will be up there the same weekend.

Frank's Turd is in the Harley fixit with a drive chain problem. Not as bad as previously thought, but this may eliminate Frank and Becky from the June PA ride.

Bob's Lady Rouge has found a new home, so he will be sans bike for the near future. Bob, you can ride pillion with Boop.

Doug W. congrates on the new bike, Tosha.

Given all this, it is a good time for members to step up and post and lead some rides. I am pleased to see this already happening.

Group participation: So far 20 people have earned points with 84 total participation points earned. Eliminating myself and Frank, Bonnie N. led the first quarter with 6 pts and currently leads for the year with 8 (honest). Alain tops out this month with 3 pts. Keep up the good work. It is OUR club.

Bike night April 19: Those of us who said "screw the tornados" and caged it, enjoyed a meal and laughs together at a new place, Weinberg's Deli on Falls of the Neuse. Bonnie and I were joined by Kevin and Dorene and Fred S. to enjoy some kreplach and chopped liver and lots of yuks. Frank and Becky started out, but apparently got blown home, where they settled in for some pizza.

Kevin and Dorene bagged their Mt. Airy ride when no one showed up. They opted for some local roads.

Doug W. on Tosha and Mike D. joined some other riders for a "short" 70 mile ride.

From Mike D.: Doug could probably do a better job. I didn't know any of the other riders there. It was about a 70 mile route which I would have to check my GPS tracks to tell you where we went. When I am in follow mode, I don't pay very good attention. I did get my bike blessed though. They blessed Doug's new bike too. The group were all from the Christian Motorcycle Association (I think that was the group anyway).

From Doug W.: Some friends and I are planning a two-day ride to the Snake and back on June 8-9 (Sat-Sun) and everyone is invited to join us. Let me know if you are interested and I'll share the lodging details once I get them.

Check out the Chapter Forum or the Yahoo group from time to time to keep updated on current events and club news.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... Please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
