Weekly Update

Monday, April 29, 2013

Just got back from a long needed weekend in Emerald Isle for some surf and sand therapy. Trying to get out this update before a 9pm conference.

First topic. Looks like we have a good turnout for our May "Back of the Dragon" weekend and everyone has their reservations in place. Meetup time and place TBA.

I have a rough plan started for our June Intercourse to Climax ride, with some good roads and interesting sights and activities. However, it appears Frank and Becky and Kevin and Doreen, due to circumstances, will not be able to attend. Before going any further with planning, especially making reservations and definitive plans for stays, I would like to get an idea of who and how many are interested in the ride. It will be a week of riding good roads through Seneca Falls WV up through the Allegheny Forest and Route 666, then down to Harrisburg/Lancaster/Scranton area, then home.

If I hear from members in the next week (even a few) I will continue with plans. Otherwise, Bonnie and I are still planning on going, but will leave the schedule more flexible. Let me know.

The Golden Turd is out of the shop. My No-Mutt is still waiting for paint.

Kudos to Larry Watson and Cameron on the new V-Rod.

State Rally Ride (from Frank):

No report per se... no one showed up at HH... so I headed out solo...

Only 1 point for attending a function... can't give points for a ride, as it was solo...

Not much to say... I took an extra back way to Deep River... place was empty, not as many tents or campers compared to previous years... I did see Shorty (PC first officer) leading a group on the dice run, and I rolled through Franklinville.

Talked a bit with members from around the state, grabbed lunch from the Blue Mist caterers, chatted some more, and then thought I'd ease up to Randleman and the CBA swap meet... OLR called my name, and I took the curves EAST, rather than west...

Check out the Chapter Forum or the Yahoo group from time to time to keep updated on current events and club news.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... Please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
