Weekly Update

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Looks like spring may actually have arrived. Buds on the trees and the goldfinches are back. Time to get some riding in.

Got the tourpack on the NoMutt and finishing the electrics and mounting the cb then on to the paint shop. The new Mustang saddle looks and feels good.

Congrats to Mike D. on a new ride (I hear). We will be looking forward to ohhh-ing and ahhh-ing at a future bike night.

On this note, Bob Humphrey has Lady Rouge up for sale on Cycletrader. The ad is at: www.cycletrader.com/addetail.html?109979749. It's up for $5700, but he’ll take the first $5500 offered. This is a good bike at a good price with some unique electronics for anyone interested.

Some changes to update our Delphi face page.

We need some folks to send in their photos with bike and question answers for our members spotlight. If you are interested, contact Bonnie N

We will try something new (again) for bike night (not THIS one). Ate at Weinstein’s deli (6016 Falls of the Neuse, Raleigh). Good food, good prices, located NEAR Stromboli's. I spoke with the owner and they will be happy to host some of our bike nights. They have a back room for us, if we have a large crowd. Plenty of parking out front. www.weinbergsdeli.com/

This last week

From Frank March 30:

Turned out to be a lucky guess to wait for the sun to work it's charm...

Mike H, Becky and I were chatting when Kevin arrived... without Dorene... we offered to add a detour and pick her up, but alas... she was working today, and wasn't available.

Tony and Bonnie arrived just about time to depart... and with hasty hellos and such... we were off.

Nothing new or outstanding... just the rolling hills of Wake, Durham, Chatham, Alamance, and Orange counties.

Lunch at the Saxapahaw General Store was delicious as always, and the chef combines fresh locally sourced foods in new and tasty ways.

I offered the choice of Maple View Farms, or S&T in Pittsboro as dessert option... MVF won hands down...

Guess what??? That Easter Egg Hunt we found last year ... or the year before.... it's an annual event, and it is GROWING... parking was at a premium, and the wait long but worthwhile.

Warmish day... we all got to shed layers, and after the weather we've had in 2013... man it felt good.

Check out the Chapter Forum or the Yahoo group from time to time to keep updated on current events and club news.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... Please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
