Weekly Update

Spent the day at Team Powersports getting new tire, pads and rotors on the NAD. The crew there was great and very helpful and friendly. They also let me take a 2012 Voyager out for a spin by myself. Took it out on 540 and up Leesville Rd a bit. It handles nicely, but the clutch is a bit noisy and clunky compared to the Nomad. I'll take a test run with Bonnie in a week or so then decide. I'm still thinking of keeping the NAD and updating the saddle and adding a trunk, instead of the Voyager.

This Friday's Bike Night will be at a NEW place: Leesville Taproom. It is in the same shopping center as Handy Hugo. I've eaten there a few times and the food is good and reasonably priced. Ample parking. They say they can handle a group of any size. Let's give it a try then I'll take feedback.

Multi chapter meet and greet coming up on March 30th, sponsored by Crystal Coast Chapter. Another chance to ride and meet other SCRC chapters. I will be working, but let me know if anyone else wants to lead a ride there. Info below.

Please join me in welcoming our newest member Mitch Hamm. Mitch is a friend of Mike Hodges, and has joined us on a few rides. Mitch lives in Franklinton, and rides a Victory Cross Country. Mitch can be reached via email hammbone@nc.rr.com If you see Mitch at bike night or on a ride, introduce yourself and say "hi".

Bonnie is trying to get our Twitter feed up and running, but needs folks who use, or would like to use Twitter, to join. This would be a way of instant communication.

Finally getting around to setting up a Twitter feed for the group. The idea was that we would have a way to send messages to each other, via our cellphones/mobile Twitter accounts, if someone was going to be late, ran into trouble, got lost, etc.

If you have a Twitter account and want to help me beta test this, let me know. Just give me your email and I will add you.

An alternate way, if you don't want to use your own email is for me to set you up with another email (through the SCRC Raleigh website which will forward to wherever you want) and can be used to make a Twitter account.

Clear as mud... right? But I think it will work.

Lastly, check out our "new" members spotlight folks at the website. If you want to appear in future spotlight spots, please send in your responses to the "questions" and a photo with your ride. Individuals or couples. It is a great way for members to see who you are and meet each other.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... Please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
