Home again after an interesting 255 miles. Introduced Bonnie to Pedro and South of the Border ("The land that PC forgot").

Ran into never ending storm cells in Ft.Bragg which caused us to seek shelter in a series of fast food places. The last cell caused us to pull into yet another Hardee's in Bragg, because of heavy rain and lightning with deep water on the roads. We checked the weather map and it seemed cells kept forming to the west and repeatedly passed over Fayetteville/Bragg without a break. It appeared to be clear a few miles up 210 toward Lillington. Finally we headed into the rain, rather than spend the night in Hardee's, and less than a half mile north, we were back in the clear.

By now you have heard of my roadside tourpak repair with a spoon and spatula from El Paso. You will be glad to know the tourpak made it back intact due to the utensil repair.

Makeshift roadside repairs and coping with challenging conditions. This is what I love about motorcycling.

Finally made it home at 7pm.

This last week

Bike night at Weinberg's Deli. Big turnout. Frank, me, Bonnie N., Bonnie S., Tony, Mike H. and Cindy H., Rick, Alain, Larry N., Bruce Fraser were joined by our new member Lindy Wetherington for lots of discussion, stories and laughs.

With turnout improving, we will go to three bike nights/month on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Fridays at 7pm. We will rotate between Weinberg's, Village Deli, and Stromboli Express. I will post the schedule in the update.

Saturday, Saxapahaw Ride: (Frank) Saturday. Tony & Bonnie, Mike & Cindy, Larry N, Lindy, Mike D, Bruce, and Tar River's Steve & Renee Burton joined Becky and I for a pleasant ride to Saxaphaw for lunch. Short ride for GR... barely 110 miles.... but mostly back roads.

Of course after eating at a five star gas station, we HAD to go to Maple View farms for ice cream.

Great day to ride, and I couldn't ask for better folks to ride with.

Check out the Chapter Forum or the Yahoo group from time to time to keep updated on current events and club news.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... Please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
