STILL bikeless, but hope on the horizon. As it turns out, I got a call from Rick, at Cutter's, soon after I posted last week's rant. It turns out that the problem WAS the ignition switch ground out. He ordered a replacement cowling, to replace the one I drilled out for the switch, and a stock KAWA ignition switch. He expected it in yesterday and swore to work on it night and day to get it ready for Saturday.

I haven’t heard back, but, at this point, I won't be able to pick up the bike until Saturday. So our departure will be Saturday by Mini, if the bike is not ready, or Sunday, by bike if it is.

Frank suggested that I post a ride to accompany us out on day one, but since our date and mode of departure (and route) is still in flux, I'm not sure that this will be feasible.

Our rough plan, now, is to ease up North to Staunton by backroads/BRP or push to Elkins and hightail it up to Staunton. Then on to Pittsburgh, where I will, with Bonnie's guidance, revisit some of my family's history and sites from my childhood.

Then on (maybe) to Alleghent National forest, and rte 666 through to Williamsport and the Grand Canyon. Next, Lancaster and sights. Next Harrisburg and visits to Bonnie's family's sites. Then, finally to Gettysburg, where we will find the site where her great grandfather fought, and was wounded, with the NY cavalry regiment.

Welcome our newest member, Jeffrey Mills. Jeffrey lives in Durham and rides a Ducati. He can be reached at jeffreylmills@yahoo.com. If you see Jeffrey at a ride or bike night, introduce yourself.
