Weekly Update

Yay. Lots of daylight. This, and some warm weather, will allow us to extend the range of some of our rides. Start thinking of places you want to ride and post a ride or suggestion. While a few of our longer rides are planned in advance, if you have an urge to ride on short notice and a hankerin' for company, post a meet up. Yahoo is a good, quick contact tool. If you want to plan a ride, but need help with the planning or leading, contact me or Frank. We will be glad to help. Let’s all get involved this season.

For those of you who did not attend last bike night, I decided to forgo the V-ger and stick with my old friend the No-Mutt. I will be upgrading it with tourpack and a new seat to prepare for longer 2 up trips with Bonnie N. I can't wait to get started on this. I hope to have the work done before our WV trip.

And speaking of Bonnie N., congrats to our new published author who has had one of her stories published in an anthology under her pseudonym, Belle Burroughs Shepherd. (What do you all think of "Belle" for a road name?)

Here's wishing Tim Duncan, our school boy, luck with his chem exam. Denise: make sure he finishes his homework BEFORE playtime.

And Denise: glad to see you are on the mend. That's why I stay off of skis (spoken by the guy who rides a motorcycle). Hope you guys can join us in WV.

Segue to WV ride. So far 12 people and 10 bikes. If you plan to ride with us and haven't made reservations, do so soon. The rooms in Marlinton are filling up. I just spoke with the Old Clark Inn owners. They have one room left with 2 double beds. Mike D. may want to double up, if he hasn't yet. Fred said he was going, but I don't have a reservation for him yet. If we get much larger, we MAY want to break up into two riding groups, for safety issues.

Steve Burton and David Miller had a great, but chilly, time in Daytona for bike week. Bonnie now says she wants to go to one of these rallys. I've been THROUGH Daytona during bike week ONCE, but am willing to try it again.

Participation awards (??)/ At the end of the first quarter, we have had participation (bike night, rides, leads) from 19 different members (way to go). Eliminating Frank (at 15 points) and myself (9 points) we have (drum roll) Bonnie N. #1 at 6 points and Tony and Bonnie S tied for #2 at 5 points. This is what keeps a club going.

For those of you that have web enabled phones, Delphi Forums now have Mobile access. This makes it easier to navigate our SCRC forums on your mobile phones.

Delphi is still a good source of information and communication for all Southern Cruisers. You can get answers to your questions there, plus you can check out other chapter events from around the world. The link is m.delphiforums.com or you can Google Delphi Forums Mobile

And finally, welcome to our new member, Jim Dillard. Jim is Larry Nunnery's nephew (we won't hold that against you, Jim) and rides a BMW (Tony, Bonnie S., and Alain smiling). Jim will be joining us on the WV ride.

This last week

Bike night March 15 Village Deli: Warm night and late sunset brought out the crowds. Frank, John, Mitch and Carol H., Mike H., Alain, and the long lost Tim and Denise were all there for lots of laughs and many stories.

Check out the Chapter Forum or the Yahoo group from time to time to keep updated on current events and club news.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... Please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
