Weekly Update

Monday, March 4, 2013

Spring is around the corner. The last blasts of artic winter are upon us, but extra daylight is only a few days away. March Madness is just ahead. Riding weather (for those of us that do not brave the winter chill) will be here any day.

Now is a good time to check out your machines for road service. Give it a good once over. Check and change the oil (if needed), tire tread, condition, and pressure. Brake fluid, pads, setting. Rotor condition. Maybe bleed the brakes. Inspect and tighten those bolts and screws. Change or check coolant. Maybe lube the chain/shaft. Fork oil/gaskets? Steering head? Get reacquainted with your machine.

If you have not ridden all winter, take it slow at first. Get used to the handling again. Maybe put it through its paces at a large empty lot.

Then go out and ride.

Just a word on the WV trip; Bonnie N. will be posting a page on our web site soon with accommodation information and maps.

And the top 2 names for the Name that Mascot contest from GRSCRC: Cardinal Sin and Cardinal Biggles. I have submitted these to Cricket.

Ride safe and ride often

This last week

Bike night at Leesville Taproom. New place. Took a while to get seating, but good food and a great turn out. Lots of laughs. Me, Bonnie N., Frank, Becky, Tony, Bonnie S., Steve B., Roy, Charla, Mike H., and our new member Mitch Hamm and his wife Carol. Let’s have some feedback on the new venue. I had concerns about the wait for a large table and the cost of the food and the lack of parking. Maybe stick with Stromboli or Jason's deli until we find a new venue??

Check out the Chapter Forum or the Yahoo group from time to time to keep updated on current events and club news.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... Please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
