Weekly Update

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Only a week or so until DST ends (Sunday, Nov 3 @ 2am). Early dark and cold nights on the horizon. Plan your riding and clothing/gear appropriately. I plan, as usual, on riding throughout the year. New warmer riding pants in the garage.

Also leaves are starting to fall. Be aware of clumps of gathered leaves on the road, which can greatly reduce friction.

B and I will be at the State Fair tomorrow. You can park close and cheap if you ride in.

We will also be riding up to Natural Bridge next week to ogle what's left of the fall leaves and celebrate 2 years together and my 64th BD and my favorite holiday.

I will, again, make two appeals to the group. One, fill out the member profile online so we can post some pics and bios. We will be taking Frank and Becky's down and replacing it with a big question mark, if we do NOT receive any bios.

Two, step up and post some rides. Rides tend to get scarcer as the days get shorter and colder, but the group will continue to ride all year round. As usual, we will be doing a New Year and Frostbite ride in January.

This last week

Bike Nite October 18 @ Village Deli Bonnie and I caged it to Village Deli to meet Frank and Mike Hodges. A couple of hours of laughs and bike talk. Then home to prep for the party.

Saturday October 19 Fall Party Bonnie and I hosted our second annual Fall party. Many of us were out of town or otherwise committed. We were joined by Frank, Becky, Roy, Charla, Kevin, Doren, David and his daughter Madelyn (neighbors), Julie (another neighbor), and my daughter, Jessie and her husband, Nicolo. Carved pumpkin, GREAT food, slide show of this year's rides, rockin' music, lots of laughter and conversation, story telling, good drink (liked the Pumpkick).

Check out the Chapter Forum or the Yahoo group from time to time to keep updated on current events and club news.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
