Ride Safe,
Joel "Doc" Kann
FO GRSCRC Chapter #70
Joel "Doc" Kann

This last week

Bike Nite @ Sweet Tomatoes Bonnie and I were joined by Frank, Lindy, Alain, and Larry N. Sweet Tomatoes seems to be a hit for the first Monday bike night. Good food, fast service (self serve), good prices (join the club veg on the website and get discount coupons), fair parking. Laughs as usual and some discussion of new bikes in our future.

Saturday Ride to CJ's deli (formerly Juggtown ) in Ashboro. I woke up and got on my bike to discover a loose connection at the ignition. Called Frank to let him know I would not make the ride start, but would meet them along the route. I got the repairs done in about 30 minutes and shot down 64 and up 421 to Liberty to beat the group by about 30 minutes. Meanwhile I met up with Bear and Dominic (old SCRC riders) who were at the quick check. Frank and Steve showed up about 30 minutes later, after taking back roads out.

I then lead the group out Old Liberty Rd (AKA the chameleon) and into Ashboro. CJ's is a good transplant of Juggtown café. Same good food and people. Reasonable prices.

I told Steve and Frank about a car show I passed in Pittsboro, so after ample lunch and bike banter, we took off down beautiful country roads, then down 87 into Ashboro. As we were parking (and ogling a new Bently Saloon), we were met by Larry Watson, who was showing his truck with the MoPar club.

We made the rounds oohing and ahhing over the cars (including a drivable Radio Flyer built out of wood and fiberglass around a Datsun truck body). Then some chit chat with the MopPar guys and had our insides rumbled by a 6.1 Hemi.

Great ride, great friends. Wish you were there.

Check out the Chapter Forum or the Yahoo group from time to time to keep updated on current events and club news.

If you see an event you want to attend, and you think it might be fun to attend said event, with fellow riders... please post something on either Yahoo, or Delphi forums. If I see it in time, I'll cross post on the other. The forums are great ways for YOU... to get to know your fellow members, and with luck, get someone to ride along.
