Weekly Update

Monday August 25, 2014

Nice cool mornings and evenings and temperate days are making for good riding weather. I've been riding to work most days.

Bonnie and I are making last minute plans to go to the SCRC National Rally in Lexington, KY. Steve B and David M will also be there. Hope to see old friends and meet new ones. If you decide to go, there are still rooms available. Let me know. Details below.

Ride safe,
Joel "Doc" Kann

Bike Nite

No bike night this past week.

Chapter Rides

8/23 Ride to Indian in Greensboro (from Frank) - Larry "valve" Nunnery, Kevin "belt" Gonyea, Steve & I sat around HH far too long laughing and joking, before I glanced at my watch, and saw we were almost one hour past KSU... so off we went. A short stint on I-540, then into the farms/countryside we rode. Skies turned dark from the "getgo" but no rain reported on the weather bands. A short stop in Whitney, for gator-ade,gum and duct tape, and we were off. Sun was hit or miss, mostly miss... same with rain... we caught an edge of a shower, but barely a mist.

Lunch at Natty Green Alehoue... I think I liked McCoull's Pourhouse better... but again good food, good price, and good service. The open house was about the same as ANY open house (except Gerbings... which will forever be in a class by itself). No new Scout, 3 wheeler, or anything...

We hung around a while, talked to a rider who bought HIS Indian Vintage, while in PA for a wedding. Started to retrace the route home, but G'boro's traffic, and mis-placed street signs led me astray, so I opted for US-421 towards Liberty... jumped off on NC-62 to Jilian-Liberty Roads, then on home via familar curvy roads.

'nother good day in the saddle.... a few sprinkles, and even one "proper" rain event... just shy of 200 miles of smiles.
