Weekly Update

Tuesday September 9, 2014

5 days, 5 states, and 1132 happy miles later, Bonnie and I are back home from the SCRC National Rally. 750 bikers, brothers and sisters, enjoyed rides, meals, contests, and partying over 3 days. We raised a lot of money for St. Jude. Met a lot of friends (Steve and David from Tar River, Yoda from Lancaster, PA). Lots of fun and not one incident. This makes me proud to be a member of SCRC. Highlights included two "where’s the road?" downpours on the way out, two bugs doing the nasty on my arm at 50 mph through, what will now be called, Bugfuck, Kentucky, a trip through blue grass horse country, a trip to High Bridge to see the country's tallest rail bridge, meeting SCRC members from all over the country and Ontario.

This is what membership is about. Comradery and sharing. If you don’t participate, you're missing out on a lot of what makes SCRC a great club.

Ride safe,
Joel "Doc" Kann

Bike Nite

I did not get a report on the 9/1 bike night. Hope all had a good time.

Chapter Rides

9/7 ride to Wilson Frank ignored the rain and rode out to Wilson to se the remains of Vollis Simpson's whirligigs. I hope some of you got to go. I've been there several times and enjoyed a few conversations with Mr. Simpson. I even have a small Simpson whirligig in our garden.
