We added another new member Randy Mellott. Randy lives in north Raleigh and rides a Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 with his wife Sue. Feel free to drop him a "welcome" email at liverounds69@yahoo.com.

Saturday, I left the house in a bit of fog and heavy overcast, but halfway down Norwood... the sun began to peek through. Mike D, Mike H, Steve, David met me at Marathon, (Lindy was coming, but had battery failure). There was some wreck damage on New Light so we looped around the closed section. Mindless loops being the theme of the day.... I sort of split between BR1 and the "all left turns" route. The motorcycle gods were with us, as the day warmed nicely... sadly there wasn't a lot of riders out... (except the bicyclist variety) so we had the roads to our self. Couple of hours riding we pulled up at Rose Pizza. Still small place, small staff small price, and good food. There were several tables filled with construction workers (always a good sign)but we were seated, and soon had the orders in. the usual table/motorcycle talk... that ended abruptly once the food arrived.

As everyone had plenty of fuel, we didn't need to stop, so we went off... another fine day to ride, and everyone home well before dark.

Anyone interested in taking on a chapter "leadership role" (ie: Road Captain, Tail Gunner, Ride Leader, Safety Officer, Second Officer, or even First Officer)

If you want to step up go to www.southerncruisers.net/constitution.htm and read what SCRC national expects from officers (and members).

Then read the ride guidelines... www.southerncruisers.net/newriding.htm. They aren't "rules" but guides, but it does explain the role of ride leader better.

Finally, there is the "code of conduct": www.southerncruisers.net/coc.htm

"Road Captain/ride leader" is a good place to start... but you don't have to be a "Road Captain" to lead a ride. Just be willing to step up... You WILL miss a turn... and do a U-turn... everyone does... it's part of the "fun" and who knows... it could lead to a funny "road name".
